Netflix doesn't always require a phone number, but in some regions and flows — new signups, account recovery, or a suspicious-login check — it asks you to verify one by SMS before letting you continue. If you're testing a signup flow, setting up a throwaway/regional account, or just don't want another service holding your real number, a rented one covers the check without the commitment.
1. Rent a number for Netflix — an instant rental is enough for a one-time verification.
2. On Netflix's phone-verification step, enter the rented number with its country code.
3. Netflix sends a short verification code by SMS, usually within seconds on a working number.
4. Enter the code from your rental's status page to finish verifying.
An instant rental is enough for a one-off verification. If you expect Netflix to re-check the number later (some accounts get re-prompted after a device or location change), a monthly rental keeps it reachable for the full period instead.
