Signal requires a phone number to register an account, and shows it can be used as your contact identifier unless you set a separate username. Testing a Signal integration, running a second account for a project, or simply wanting a number you're not attached to long-term are all common reasons to use a rented one instead of your own.
1. Rent a number for Signal — an instant rental covers the registration.
2. Open Signal, choose to register a new account, and enter the rented number with its country code.
3. Signal sends a registration code by SMS (occasionally by call) within seconds on a working number.
4. Enter the code from your rental's status page to complete registration.
Signal, like WhatsApp and Telegram, may re-send a code to the same number later if you log in from a new device. If you plan to keep using the account, a monthly rental keeps that number reachable instead of releasing it right after registration.
